When Will the Epstein Vote Take Place and Why Is Trump in Favour of Release?
Why does Trump now claim he wants the Epstein files published, and when is the vote?
After earlier opposing attempts to make the documents public, US President Donald Trump has abruptly changed his stance and asked Republicans in Congress to vote to reveal further information related to Jeffrey Epstein.
A growing number of Republicans had indicated they would vote in favour of releasing the data despite Trump's opposition, raising the possibility of an uprising.
Although the House of Representatives is expected to approve the bill on Tuesday, the Republican-controlled Senate is far from guaranteed to approve it.
Furthermore, it's also unclear when the data may be made public and whether they would appease fervent supporters, even if it passes the Senate.
