Top Zelensky Aide Quits Following Anti-Corruption Raid

Following a residence raid by Ukrainian anti-corruption police, Zelensky's chief of staff resigns

Following an anti-corruption raid on his residence, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Andriy Yermak, his chief of staff, resigned.

Yermak, 54, has been Zelensky's closest advisor during Russia's full-scale conflict, but while not being charged with any crimes, he has been under growing pressure due to a corruption scandal.

Yermak stated on social media that "from my side there is full co-operation" after Ukraine's anti-corruption agencies raided his flat in the government quarters of Kyiv early on Friday.

Zelensky had recently appointed his chief of staff to lead crucial negotiations in the coming days, with US President Trump spearheading a new drive to end the war with Russia.

Ukraine's leader stated, "I'm grateful to Andriy that Ukraine's position on the negotiating track was always presented as required: it was always a patriotic position," during a speech in Kyiv on Friday.

However, I want there to be no gossip or conjecture. I'll talk with potential leaders of this institution tomorrow regarding a new office head. Inner strength is needed when all the concentration is on defence and diplomacy during a conflict.
